September 2025 - A new scouting year: Scouting resumes across our different sections at various dates in September and we are looking forward to seeing all our members new and old getting back to activities and meetings! Please check with your Section Leader for the correct dates if you have not received communication.
We have space in some sections for new members, but unfortunately are at capacity for some age groups and long waiting lists are in place. If you have children interested in joining then please make contact with a leader or drop an email to StPatricksScoutGroupCork@gmail.com. Where waiting lists exist, if you are in a position to also volunteer as an adult member, then your child may be prioritised.
For existing members re-registering, please go to our youth member registration form where up to 4 children can be registered at once. This is an essential mandated requirement for safeguarding purposes, registration and insurance. Your child(ren) MUST be registered!
New Leaders: It is a big ask to run a group like this and we always need help. If you are an adult and are interested in helping out then please contact us at StPatricksScoutGroupCork@gmail.com. More than ever we need people's assistance with running meetings and activities, doing things to do the paperwork in the background, maintaining our grounds, etc. There's a job for everybody so please volunteer! We really need new Leaders for the year ahead, both men and women, and if we do not get new Leaders, we may have to look at curtailing meetings and activities. Please reach out if you can - if we do not get sufficient leaders, certain activities and meetings will halt. This is for safeguarding reasons.
Payments: Last year we had great success with our online payment system using it for all sorts of payments. Online payment is mandatory except in very exceptional circumstances. This is for the safety of all our team and to enable us to efficiently run our Group. As notified, rather than taking separate annual registration payments (covering insurance, HQ costs, etc.) and monthly dues (covering programme costs, training, heating, lighting, maintenance, etc.), we are combining into a single monthly payment. Each youth member will pay €100 three times during the Scouting Year, payable by the end of September, November and February using our online payment system. Registration as above using the online system and payment is essential for your child to be insured and to attend meetings and events. As always, please reach out to any of the team if you have any concerns or need any assistance with payment.
We ask all parents to make payments online to help streamline the overall process and to make sure we keep Scouting safe for all. Secure online payment details are on our Online Payments page. We do not accept cash payments.
